23rd General Chapter
Approved October 22, 2012
We, the School Sisters of Notre Dame, are profoundly affected and challenged by the many divisions in our world and church today and by the social, economic and ecological crises of our times. As an international congregation of apostolic women religious, we are called and sent to address these divisions and crises with audacity and hope. “United and content with little, we go out into the whole world”
because “love cannot wait!”*
*Blessed Theresa Gerhardinger, writings #144 and #1.
The 23rd General Chapter concluded today with the celebration of the Eucharist with Archbishop Joseph William Tobin presiding. A festive meal followed.
Clean-up and departures are now top priority. We will post a few photos in the Photo Albums section in the next few days.
Sisters will receive an official announcement concerning the outcomes of the Chapter. “Acts of the general chapter include legislation, authorizations, recommendations, and resolutions. As soon as possible the general superior makes these acts known to the members of the congregation.” (YAS, GD 95)
At a later point, some of this information will be shared on this website, as well as on the international website, www.gerhardinger.org.
Until then, “arrivederci.”
