23rd General Chapter

Dear Sisters, It is time once again for the congregation to prepare for a General Chapter, that international, collegial group of sisters who represent all the units of the congregation and who, together, when they are in session, constitute the highest authority in the congregation. On September 19, 2011, we began the Year of the Chapter, a period of concentrated preparation for the 23rd General Chapter, which opens officially on September 19, 2012. The more we pay attention to what is going on in the church and world today, the more it seems apparent that the theme of the 23rd General Chapter, Called and Sent to Witness to Unity in a Divided World, is inspired by God. If we prepare well for this Chapter, we will experience calls to conversion and renewal. Let us open our individual and communal hearts to these calls, and respond, as we always have, with love and a radical availability for whatever God asks. We are grateful for this new website created specifically for our 23rd General Chapter. All information related to the 23rd General Chapter will be posted here. We encourage you to visit this General Chapter website often.
Excerpts from the General Council Circular 15/11 September 8, 2011: Adapted

Triune God You call us to be one with You as apostolic women religious.
You send us into the world to be bread that is blessed, broken and shared.
Called and sent to participate in the mission of Jesus, help us deepen in a new way our charism of unity, as we prepare for the 23rd General Chapter.
Through the intercession of Mother Theresa, woman of courage, give us the grace to do, in Mary´s spirit, whatever You tell us. Amen! |
